1972 VW 1303S
14/12/2011 - 24/02/2012
The 1303S or the Super Beetle, was the most evolved model of the Beetle family. It featured McPherson front suspension, disc brakes in the front and an overall improved handling. Its 1.6L boxer engine developed 50bhp and was a good base for modifications.
Our car was designed to be a sort of neo classic Grand Tourer. Therefore, the back seat was cancelled, providing room for a custom hand made suitcase. The front seats are very comfortable and upholstered in a kilt fabric, heritage from the 1970s Golf GTI.
The engine was beefed up and now develops a solid 65bhp, providing more than enough power for long journeys as well as good mileage.
Extra lighting was added in the form of a search light mounted near the left “A” pillar.
We cancelled all the chrome on the car and replaced it with copper effect paint.
Enjoy the ride!
